Calls and Puts explained the topic of discussion today. I know many of you are not even sure what puts and calls, but you're here at the financial website so you know it must be something to do with finances. And you're right, more specifically, puts and calls have to do with investments and stocks. So at about 300 or so words I'll try and explain the place and the call so you will understand what they are, and maybe in another article I will show you how to buy and sell put and call to make a big investment if you know what you do.
Let's call this post puts and calls for dummies. First though, we need to understand what type of investment vehicle insurance and placing the call. I mentioned they are a way of investing in stocks, but not directly. Put and call options. So let's set the options. Simply put, option is a contract that gives you privileges or rights to purchase or sell the underlying security and (most times the stock) but not the obligation, to buy or sell.
So let us first see call options explained. A call option is the right to buy (or hold, a bullish long) the underlying stock. Therefore, explaining the choice is the opposite. A put option is the right to sell (you think the underlying stock will go down value) of the underlying stock. I like to remember in this way. If I call, I pick up the phone. Picked up the phone to a means to improve my ear that you can think of as the share price will be higher. When I finished I called you "put" the phone back on the receiver. Put the phone from my ear to the receiver is hung up, the stock price down
So this is a call and put quite simply explained. There's more than that, and maybe I'll get posts about how you can use call and put in your investment portfolio as a hedge and a chance to make some money, quick fast if you get it right. So I hope you enjoy the place and call to explain.
